Lindapter
Steadfast supplies Lindapter steelwork fixings including girder clamps, floor fixings and steelwork connectors for connecting structural steel without conventional onsite drilling or welding.
Girder and beam clamps secure secondary steel, brackets and frames to beam flanges. Floor fixings fasten plate, open-grid and industrial flooring to supporting steelwork. Complementary steelwork connectors cover wider structural and non-structural attachments including building-services supports from steel members.
Girder clamps
What they are
Beam and Girder clamps are Lindapter's core steel-to-steel fixings. They clamp onto beam flanges to connect secondary steelwork, brackets, frames and related assemblies without drilling or welding the parent member.
Typical uses
- Beam-to-beam and secondary steel connections
- Brackets, hangers and support frames
- Retrofit and maintenance work on existing steel
Key benefits
- Fast installation
Standard hand tools, reduced onsite fabrication - No drill / no weld
Helps avoid hot work on the parent steel - Adjustability
Position and refine the connection on site - Coating protection
Helps preserve galvanising and paint
Floor fixings
What they are
Lindapter floor fixings secure steel floor plate, open-grid flooring and related deck systems to supporting steelwork. They are selected to suit the flooring type, support arrangement and required access during installation.
Typical uses
- Chequer plate and steel floor plate
- Open-grid and industrial flooring
- Plant platforms, walkways and access decks
Key benefits
- Secure fixing
Positive connection of flooring to steel supports - Faster fit-out
Reduced drilling of supporting members where the product allows - Maintenance friendly
Suited to industrial platforms and access areas - Product choice
Options matched to plate, grid and support type
Steelwork connectors
What they are
Alongside Lindapter girder clamps, the range includes complementary steelwork connectors and clamping components for structural and non-structural steel connections. Steadfast can help identify the correct product from section, load and arrangement details.
Typical uses
- Secondary steel and framing connections
- Support brackets and attachments to structural members
- Building-services and equipment supports from steelwork
Key benefits
- Broad range
Connectors for common steel connection tasks - Specification support
Help matching product to section and duty - Project supply

Lindapter steelwork clamping systems
Lindapter developed the original Lindsay Bolt Adapter in 1934 and specialises in steelwork clamping systems used internationally across construction, infrastructure and industrial projects.
Traditional steel connections can mean drilling, welding, hot-work controls and damage to protective coatings, especially on existing structures. Lindapter clamps attach to compatible steel sections and are tightened with standard hand tools, helping reduce onsite fabrication while allowing positioning and adjustment during installation.
Selection and performance depend on the steel section, loads and application. See the FAQ for suitability questions, or ask Steadfast for product guidance.
FAQs
What Lindapter products does Steadfast supply?
Steadfast focuses on Lindapter girder clamps, steelwork fixings, floor fixings and steelwork connectors. Other Lindapter categories can be discussed against a specific enquiry where suitable products exist in the manufacturer’s range.
Are Lindapter fixings suitable for hollow-section steel?
Yes. Lindapter manufactures specialist hollow-section fixings for rectangular, square and circular sections, including some one-sided-access applications. Suitability depends on section size, wall thickness, loads and access. Share details of the hollow section and we can advise on the appropriate product.
Are they suitable for building services (pipework, trays, ductwork)?
Often yes. Lindapter fixings are widely used to suspend or support pipework, cable trays, ductwork, sprinklers and other M&E services from structural steel. The correct clamp or connector depends on the service load, steel section and support arrangement.
Are they suitable for composite decking or open-grid flooring?
Lindapter floor and decking fixings cover steel floor plate, open-grid flooring and composite decking systems. Product choice depends on the flooring type and supporting steel. Provide flooring and support details so we can confirm the correct fixing.
Can Lindapter be used on existing or coated steelwork?
Yes. Clamping systems are often particularly useful on existing structures where drilling, welding or hot work would be difficult or undesirable. Avoiding drilling and welding helps preserve galvanising, paint and protective coatings. Section geometry, condition and loads must still be checked.
Are they suitable for rail or infrastructure applications?
Selected Lindapter products are used on approved low-speed rail, depot and infrastructure applications. Approvals and product choice are application-specific. Always check the relevant Lindapter documentation for the intended duty.
Can Lindapter products be used for lifting or rigging?
Only products specifically designed and approved for lifting or rigging should be used for that purpose. Do not assume a general steelwork clamp is suitable for lifting. Confirm the product designation and approval before specifying.
Are Lindapter products independently approved?
Selected products carry independent approvals and certifications for specific structural and non-structural applications. Approvals are not universal across the range. Always check the data sheet or certificate for the fixing and intended use.
What information is needed to select a Lindapter fixing?
Useful details include connection type, steel section and flange thickness, connection arrangement, applied loads, bolt size and grade, required adjustment, access restrictions, corrosion environment, required approvals, and whether the use is structural or non-structural. Drawings or photographs of the steelwork also help.
